This 1979 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce is finished in green over maroon vinyl upholstery and powered by a 2.0L twin-cam inline-four paired with dual Weber carburetors and a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a tan soft top, 15” Alfaholics wheels, and four-wheel disc brakes. The car was acquired by the owner in 2018, and comes with a clean District of Columbia title.
The Pininfarina-designed bodywork was was previously red. It features a tan soft top, and exterior details include a red stripe on the nose, hood, and trunk lid, dual side mirrors with black covers, Pininfarina side badges, an aftermarket three-piece trunk spoiler, and bright trim.
Alfaholics GTA Lightweight 15” wheels were added under present ownership and are shod with 205/15 Sumitomo HTR A/S PO2 tires installed in 2019. A spare is located beneath the trunk floor. Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs. The brakes, calipers, and pads are said to have been replaced under prior ownership.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in maroon vinyl with matching door panels. Tan carpets are accompanied by rubber floor mats, while additional appointments include an Alpine stereo. The stereo is not connected. The seats, carpets, and dashboard are said to have been refurbished under prior ownership.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel frames twin Jaeger instrument pods that house an 85-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer. Auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature are mounted in the center of the dash. The six-digit odometer shows 51k miles. The turn signal stalk was replaced in 2021.
The twin-cam 2.0L inline-four, which was factory equipped with fuel injection, has been retrofitted with two Weber 40 DCOE carburetors. The rear carburetor was rebuilt in November 2021, and the front carburetor was replaced in July 2022. The throttle cable was replaced in August 2022, and both motor mounts, the accelerator cable, and the battery were replaced in 2019. The engine is said to have been rebuilt under prior ownership in the 2010s, at which time the water pump and fuel pump were replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip rear differential. An oil pan guard is installed under the front of the car. The secondary clutch cylinder and clutch hose were replaced in February 2019.
